Hi all and welcome to my green blog ...next to red, green is my 2nd favourite colour. Green is so refreshing, the colour of life, one of Australia's national colours (the other is yellow), and green seems to be a predominant colour nowadays- in fashion, jewelry(emeralds, jade, green crystals), cars, furniture..and even my son's previous school colours were green.

This is my suburb in Queensland Australia- the site of one of the biggest Kite Festivals in the Southern Hemisphere. This is held every 2nd sunday in May. See the green lawn set against the bright blue Australian sky?

This is back home- we have water restrictions as you probably heard on the news. So- I planted low maintenance succulents that just multiplies and thrives in this drought-stricken country!

My hubby's favourite- sometimes i join him, and this is also my namesake- Victoria Bitter- (Australia's answer to San Miguel Beer). It's a nice beer too especially if it's a cold one.

Green- it always reminds me of my hometown in the Philippines, Baguio City. Just after a rain, the Kennon Road (sometimes known as ZigZag Road) looks so verdant and the pine tree scent is more aromatic...ahh Baguio...I miss you sooooooo.....

Green is also the colour of my office chair- to match the green leather inlay of the 'partner's table' I share with the housemates (hubby, son and myself). My hubby and I made that office chair- I sprayed, stapled and trimmed the back and seat while the hubby finished the upholstery, assembled it and tested it to be safe for me to sit on ... LOLs!

Various shades of green is featured in my garden- like this blossoming native orchid which is nearly bursting with hundreds of tiny creamy orchids...or the honesty bloom below- i pop those little flowers to enjoy the soothing 'pop' sound.

The rain in Queensland deepens the colours of these trees and bushes.

Somehow, these bushes that will grow into a nice hedge after a couple of years are taking sometime to grow. Each bush used to be a cutting - cost was only $1AUD each. Those colourful impatiens just florished there. There are also bromeliads on the side. I am proud to say that this is a part of my garden at home.

This is the street where we live facing the waterfront...A 10 minute leisurely walk will bring you to the end of the street (where I catch my bus to take me to work nearly every day!). The end of the street is the beach- and a great view of the Port of Brisbane.
Thus end my 'green litany' ..Hope you all enjoyed it as it was such a pleasure to create.
"gidday from Australia ...signing out.
